Weak Women dance: school for collective critical thinking and dancing

The movement laboratory will focus on the issues of critical thinking in dance and performance, body politics and relationships, neoliberal tendencies in self-care techniques, and somatic dance. Together, we will look at these problematic areas of dance education and offer you tools to get closer to collectivity, cooperation, and belonging in times of social and environmental crises.

Instructors Eva Priečková and Zuzana Žabková have several years of experience with expanded choreography, movement improvisation, creative work, touch work, active imagination, critical thinking, and group facilitation, ensuring that all voices are heard equally, especially those struggling with persistent oppression and indifference.

Eva Priecková is an interdependent dance artist, researcher, and curator, primarily working around the residency and artistic research centre Telocvičňa in Bratislava. As Eva Priečková / False Move, she hosts the educational platform SOFT CORE, which brings together embodied movement practice with critical reflection on the body and relationality. Her work explores dance in diverse communities—including older adults, Roma communities, and social work contexts—as well as ecosomatics, more-than-human relations, and rituals of grief and celebration. She is a co-curator of the international symposium Contaminations. Through her artistic and research practice, she investigates the potential of dance education to foster social justice, mutual responsibility, and emancipation from the unconscious repetition of normative patterns of behaviour. For her, dance is an act of resisting and provoking docile bodies and minds through mutual listening, improvisation, awe and sensuality, weirdness and imaginations and through everything that cannot be expressed in words. In 2026, she completed her PhD at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno. She deeply values collaboration and has worked for many years with Yuri Korec and Co., Zuzana Žabkovová, Katarína Poliačiková, Sonja Pregrad, and many other inspiring artists.

Zuzana Zabková is an artist, dancer, and choreographer exploring the body as a prophetic apparatus, always in touch with something beyond itself. Drawing from wounds, weakness, and brokenness as holy strategies for survival, she works with somatic fiction and collective play structures as laboratories for new forms of social relations. She is the co-founder of björnsonova, a platform, fictional character, community, and multifaceted dance form spanning various temporal, spatial, and artistic dimensions. She holds an MA from the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Visual Arts in Brno. She lives and works between Frankfurt am Main and Prague.
