In the spirit of the festival
and its idea that spaces of support are built not only through
large systems and institutions, but also through everyday
gestures, shared time, and the exchange of experiences and
knowledge, we gather around the preparation and sharing of food
at our studio Načeta. Together with local artist-hosts Anja
Mergeduš and Dora Brkarić, and Miloš Janjić, an artist-host from
Serbia, we connect the dinner with a collective intervention of
writing and sending postcards in solidarity with students and
cultural workers in Serbia. Their ongoing resistance for the
past two years raises a crucial question about the lack of
accountability among cultural and political institutions. The
postcards will also serve as artefacts in their own right,
helping us map, through open conversation, examples of
resistance within Serbia’s cultural and artistic fields.
Participants are invited to express their support in whatever
way feels right to them, creating postcards as small carriers of
solidarity that connect this local gathering and collective
action with broader networks of support across the region and
Europe.
